Horror fans everywhere, hold on to your hats! Red Velvet, an edgy and fast-paced new feature film with terrifying and fun twists and turns makes its way to DVD and Blu-ray.

After covertly following his "hot" neighbor Linda to the local laundromat and making awkward conversation, misfit Aaron learns that she is disappointed over missing a big birthday bash with friends at a remote cabin in the woods. To entertain and seduce Linda, Aaron constructs a morbid tale featuring a psychopathic killer that systematically and gruesomely murders all the guests at the party. Linda becomes intrigued with "weirdo" Aaron and more engaged in his story as the mayhem mounts, even contributing some of her own ideas along the way. As Aaron’s shocking yarn unfolds, the sexual tension between the mysterious stranger and his gorgeous neighbor continues to build. But are Aaron's stories pure fantasy or are they somehow based in twisted reality? With each scene, viewers are rapidly moved to Red Velvet's horrific climax.

Light years from his memorable performance as Elliot in E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial and other more recent illustrious films, including Gangs of New York, Legends of the Fall, and Suicide Kings, Henry Thomas stars as Aaron, a charismatic yet darkly peculiar outcast reminiscent of other classic psychos you "love to hate" like Norman Bates and Hannibal Lector. Thomas is coupled with sexy up-and-comer and indie-darling Kelli Garner (as Linda) who impressed audiences in the cult classic Bully, played opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Aviator, is featured in Disney’s G-Force and appeared in Ang Lee's Taking Woodstock. 

Red Velvet is a refreshing alternative to today’s onslaught of “torture porn” horror movies, including the Saw and Hostel franchises. The new film harkens back to famed 80s slasher films such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th, while paying homage to Mario Bava’s and Dario Argento’s horror flicks of the 60s and 70s. The movie was shot on 35mm film, rendering the colors and composition even more vivid and arresting in a digital age. Avid horror fans also will spot a cameo appearance by Forrest J Ackerman, the legendary editor of Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine, who inspired many top names in the film business and horror genres such as Tim Burton, John Landis, Guillermo Del Toro and Steven Spielberg, as well as Red Velvet co-producer, writer, and production designer, Joe Moe and producer, Sean Fernald.
